Jamie Cripwell receives a medal

Jamie Cripwell

Jamie Cripwell, Masters student at Process Engineering

Jamie Cripwell, a postgraduate student in the Separations Technology Research Group in the Process Engineering Department, was recently awarded the Stellenbosch University Medal for the Top Masters Student in the Faculty of Engineering at the recent April graduation ceremony. Jamie’s work, which looked at state-of-the-art thermodynamic modelling of complex mixtures of polar petrochemical components, is just one of many top class thermodynamics-based Masters and Doctoral theses to come out of the Process Engineering Department in recent years. He credits excellent guidance under Dr Cara Schwarz and Prof. Andre Burger as well as invaluable insight from those who studied in the field before him for his success. Currently enrolled for his PhD studies along similar lines, he hopes to be as helpful to the next group of thermodynamics researchers in continuing the successful research of the SepTech Group.
